I learned so much about mules and I am looking forward to owning my own. They outlive horses(though I love them too) they are easier to manage and have less medical problems, they are smarter and safer and more comfortable to ride. They are so affectionate to a kind owner that they will follow them around like a dog. They remember things that they will not forgive if someone is cruel to them. They require special saddles and equipment but feel more better while riding them. They have a sense of humor and love to be around horses, especially mares. The book covered everything from their history, what they are used for, their health and care, their personalities, and was very thorough.I really needed to read up on them because my experience was always with horses and I always wanted mules and or donkeys as well.
This is a GREAT book on mules and the people that own and love them. Lots and lots of short stories, mule history and wonderful pictures. It is so nice to pick it up when I have a few moments and to read one of the interesting stories. Everything is so well written too. Highly recommend to newbies to mules as well as old hands at mules. After a lifetime of Arabians, at 70, I bought a beautiful Molly and my adventure began!
One of the best written books on Mules. I had horses, but switched to Mules to save on Vet bills, plus they are SO INTELLIGENT, and will take care of you, and don't do stupid things like eat themselves sick.There are so many great things to learn about Mules as compared to horses, but you could find them in this book.I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book to anyone thinking about buying one, or has one!
If you are on the fence about possibly owning a Mule this book will make the decision for you... you will want a Mule after reading through this.
One of the best books written on equine, with pictures to match. If you know mules or if you don't know mules or if you love America and everything that made our country great, then buy several of these books and send them to friends for a present that can't be matched !
I was expecting a lot more from this book. It was a basic book on mules and written in a way that just jumped around a lot. I didn't learn anything that isn't written everywhere else about mules. Disappointed.
This is a beautiful book, lots of great stories/info, actually larger than I expected, was a gift but I wanted to keep for myself! Anyone who appreciates the mule would love this book, equine lovers who are unfamiliar with the smarts and strength of mules will learn something
Enjoyed the format. Many different articles, you will have a good perspective of mules. Do not own a mule but great book to get educated on the subject.
